Assistant Vice President, UCF Downtown chanda.torres@ucf.edu Dr. Chanda Torres has worked in higher education for nearly 25 years in a variety of leadership positions in student and academic affairs in both a state college and university setting. She came to UCF in 2012 and has served as an Assistant Vice President for over 10 years in the areas of Advising, Transfer and Career Services and Downtown Student Services. Currently, Dr. Torres serves as the Assistant Vice President for Student Succes, Academic Support Services and Partnership for UCF Downtown. In this capacity, she serves as the lead student and academic support services official, supports the management of the community engagement and marketing and communication service functions of the campus as well as advance strategic initiatives related to student success, enrollment management and campus assessment. She has presented at state and national conferences on Student Development and Student Success topics and is a published author. She has also been the recipient of state and national awards related to her service, leadership, collaborative efforts, and exemplary practices including the 2023 UCF College of Community Innovation and Education’s Educational Leadership and Higher Education Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Torres is an active member of the community and serves on the Executive Board for the Covenant House Florida as well as mentors and coaches students and professionals in higher education. She received a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Education, a master’s degree in Student Personnel, and a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction, all from the University of Central Florida. < Back
