Weeks of Welcome is the bi-annual UCF Downtown and Valencia College Downtown Campus’s official welcome back to campus celebration. Throughout the first two week of the Fall and Spring semester, Valencia College and UCF students are welcome to attend a variety of events that are geared toward helping them acclimate to campus and get connected to the downtown community.

Coming to the downtown campus for the first time? Not sure where to go? Wondering what services campus has to offer? Look for the Downtown Campus Locator tents located in the DPAC Seneff Plaza and near the Parramore parking garage! There will be staff waiting to help you find what you are looking for and answer questions you may have.
Experience all that yoga has to offer outdoors on the Skydeck! Strengthen, stretch, align the body and increase flexibility using continuous flowing movements. Yoga helps relieve physical, mental, and emotional stress, and seeks to bring out the best in you.
This class will take place on the skydeck located on the sixth floor of UnionWest. For access to the skydeck, meet us on the first floor of Unionwest near Subway by 5:55 p.m.
KaleidoScope.360° is a family-friendly outdoor movie series held on the first Wednesday of each month at Luminary Green in Creative Village, Downtown Orlando. Starting with a pre-show at 6:30 p.m. and the main feature at 7:00 p.m., the evening concludes with Luminary Nights on the Green—a 20-minute show featuring projected animations and lighting synchronized to music. This event is produced by Global Peace 360° and is presented by Downtown Orlando and Orlando Health. Thanks to our presenting sponsors with the generous support of Creative Village Development, LLC. and The Julian, this free event is open to the public and ends at 10:00 p.m.
Looking to make new connections in a fun and relaxed environment? Join us for Speed Friending with Free Food! This event is designed to help you meet new people, engage in quick and easy conversations, and build friendships in no time.
Join us for a fun, stress-free event with free food and tickets to the Orlando Magic vs. Milwaukee Bucks game which would be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis - with a box seat view! UCF and Valencia College Downtown students, don’t miss this opportunity to relax, socialize, and enjoy the game on January 10th. We will meet at the UnionWest 2nd Floor lobby for the ticket distribution and walk to the Kia Center together! All students must present a valid UCF or Valencia College DT student ID.

Enjoy some sweet treats as you connect with community organizations about volunteering opportunities that will help build your resume and lead to future internship and job possibilities.

Looking to discover new resources, enjoy free food, and have some fun? Join us for an exciting Resource Fair with free food, countless campus resources, and games! This event is the perfect opportunity to explore helpful resources, with some carnival-style fun. Students should come with a valid UCF or Valencia College DT student ID.
All giveaways will be available while supplies last.
The Downtown Industry Day is designed to connect students with industry professionals to help students get career ready. Employer representatives will be on hand to assist with one-on-one resume reviews and interview preparation sessions.
Please bring an updated copy of your resume for recruiters to review.
Students are not required to attend for the entire duration of the event. Students can show up anytime during the designated session times. The session will be conducted on a first come, first-served drop-in basis. As employer representatives become available, students will be paired 1-1 to conduct a 15-20 minute session of their choosing and are free to leave after the session is complete.
This event is eligible for an EXPO Fast Pass which will grant early entry to the Spring 2025 Internship & Career EXPO (12:30 PM). Pick up your voucher on the way out from the session!

This event is a great chance to reconnect with friends, meet new peers, and fuel up for a successful semester ahead. Whether you're a returning grad student or new to the program, this is a great chance to kick off the year with good food, good company, and great games!
Join us for Open Bouldering Night at Blue Swan Boulders for FREE!
Bouldering is a unique challenge, a great workout and an opportunity to push your limits – whether you’re brand new to climbing or have been at it for years. It requires no special equipment or previous experience, making it perfect for all ages and fitness levels.
Meet us on the second floor lobby of Unionwest at 5:30 p.m. As a group, we will head over to Blue Swan Boulders for Open Bouldering Night. Blue Swan Boulders is a five- to seven-minute walk from the UCF Downtown campus. To participate, you must bring your student ID.
This monthly food distribution event is a volunteering opportunity that occurs on the third Thursday of every month at the 910 Livingston Street Church of God about a block and half from UCF Downtown and Valencia College Downtown.
The entire volunteer opportunity is from 8:30am-1:00pm. There are 2 volunteer shifts: 8:30am-11:00am and 10:30am-1:00pm. Volunteers may sign up for one or both shifts (link below).
Volunteers will be expected to assist with setup and teardown, breakdown and repackage food for distribution, and assist with loading patron's vehicles.

Join us for Big Heart Mentors on January 17th from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Boys and Girls Club Huges Branch! UCF and Valencia students will connect with kids through hands-on activities, icebreakers, and workshops, sharing personal experiences to inspire young minds. This event helps kids explore careers, discover their passions, and understand how they can shape their futures, while college students enhance their mentoring skills.
