UCF is committed to the health and wellness of its students, faculty and staff. The downtown campus offers a variety of health and wellness services and programs, including primary healthcare, mental health counseling, stress reduction, fitness, nutrition and sexual health. 

Your healthcare is interconnected – your mental health is connected to your physical activity and to your academic success, so your well-being is integrated.  Well-Being works collaboratively to connect services to get what you need faster. 

Student Health Services (SHS)

UCF Student Health Services provides a wide array of primary care services five days a week to meet your healthcare needs.

  • Diagnose, treat and write prescriptions for common illnesses such as strep throat, bladder infections, pink eye and infections of the ears, nose and throat
  • Common vaccinations for flu, HepB, MMR and Tdap
  • TB testing
  • Treat minor wounds, abrasions, and skin conditions such as poison ivy, ringworm and acne
  • Provide a wide range of wellness services, including education on sleep issues and smoking cessation
  • Lab tests such as Strep, urinalysis, rapid COVID, flu, and pregnancy
  • 10-panel drug screen without chain of custody, upon patient request
  • Monitoring of diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, asthma, anxiety, depression, and other chronic illnesses

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)

Mental health services at UCF Downtown is provided by UCF Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).

  • Free, confidential mental health counseling
  • Initial assessment and treatment recommendations
  • Short-Term individual counseling
  • Crisis intervention and management
  • Presentations on mental health and wellness topics
  • Consultations to staff, faculty, students and parents
  • Referrals to community providers other resources

Recreation & Wellness Center (RWC)

The Recreation and Wellness Center is a comfortable workout space for students, faculty and staff with any fitness goals. The 7,900 square foot facility includes a multipurpose fitness studio, cardio equipment with the latest technology, strength machines, free weights and a state-of-the-art functional space. Wellness & Health Promotion Services (WHPS)

Wellness & Health Promotion Services offers a wide variety of services and programs aimed at helping all UCF students be healthy students! We promote healthy lifestyle habits associated with higher academic performance by providing outreach and educational workshops on safe sex, nutrition, stress management, sleep, healthy relationships, and body image. Care Services

Care Services, an extension of UCF Student Care Services (SCS), offers guidance, resources, and referrals to Downtown students who are experiencing a distressing situation which significantly impacts academic or personal success. Care Services coordinates referrals to campus and community resources, develops action plans for student success, oversees the Student of Concern process, and provides education and outreach to university and community members. Our goal is to intervene before a student reaches crisis level and ensure the safety of both the student and the Downtown community.
